Soocas grabs $30 million Series C

Soocas, an oral care startup, has snagged $30 million (200 million Yuan) in Series C funding that was led by Vision Knight Capital. Kinzon Capital, Cathay Capital, Greenwoods Investment and Yunmu Capital also joined the round. The funding will be used for marketing efforts and product development. Founded in 2015, Soocas is one of the portfolio startups of Xiaomi, a Chinese phonemaker.

Xiaomi, Foxconn Plan To Set Up Two More Manufacturing Facilities In India

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi, along with its partner Foxconn is looking forward to setting up two more manufacturing facilities in India. Xiaomi India chief, Manu Jain said that the company is in talks with state governments for finalizing the land and other issues related to the plants. In August last year, Xiaomi partnered Foxconn and started assembling its phones locally.

Future Xiaomi Smartphones Will Now Come With Pre-Installed Microsoft Office Suite

Microsoft and Xiaomi have today struck a patent transfer and cross-licensing deal, alongside an application pre-install agreement that will see Redmond’s productivity application suite, including Office and Skype already installed on millions of Xiaomi smartphones and tablets starting this September. This agreement seems beneficial for both parties, and will build upon the already healthy relations of the tech giants.
