Indian Edtech Startup Bulbul raises $500k

Bulbul Inc., a Hydrabad and US based edtech startup, has received funds from of $500,000 in early stage investment round from Xseed Partners, digital consulting firm Anblick Solutions Pvt. Ltd, angel fund Operator VC, and Infoblob. Founded in 2015, Bulbul that develops apps for pre-school kids, also raised funds of $1 million in 2016 and $200k in 2015.

Bengaluru math-startup Cuemath is hitting the big time following an announcement Monday it raised $15million from one of Google’s investment-arms, CapitalG, and Sequoia India. Their curriculum was designed by grads and staff from IIT, Stanford, Harvard, Cambridge, and IIM among other top-tier-schools. They boast a nationwide presence of 200full-time employees in cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune.

Unacademy, an Bangalore-based edtech startup providing free online learning platform, has raised US$4.5 million in its Series A round of funding, led by Nexus Venture Partners and Blume Ventures. With the new round of funding, Unacademy will grow its educator-base from 200 to 2,000 in the next one year, across varied exam preparation, language learning and professional growth topics.
