Robi’s First Local CEO Takes Charge

Mahtab Uddin Ahmed will take charge of Robi today- the first Bangladeshi to assume the role of chief executive officer and managing director in the foreign-owned mobile operator. He is replacing Supun Weerasinghe, who had been at the helm of the mobile operator since January 2014. The appointment is part of Axiata's ongoing efforts towards developing and promoting local talents.

Telenor’s CEO Coming to Dhaka

Telenor Group’s President and CEO Sigve Brekke is coming to Dhaka on Monday. He took up Telenor’s President and CEO position on 17th August (2015). During his Dhaka visit, Sigve Brekke will meet with Telecom State Minister Tarana Halim and the senior Grameenphone officials. This is his first trip to Bangladesh.

Twitter CEO Gives Stock To Employees

Twitter Chief Executive and co-founder Jack Dorsey said he is giving a third of his stock in the company, about 1 per cent, to the employee equity pool. The move, worth $197 million is to "reinvest directly in our people," said Dorsey. Dorsey is working to rebuild employee morale and confidence after high-level departures over the past several months.
