The Postal Division To Collaborate With Alibaba, Amazon

The postal division is going to collaborate with global e-commerce giants Alibaba and Amazon to deliver their products across Bangladesh. A pilot project will be launched within a short-time, said Tarana Halim, state minister for telecom and postal division. Through this initiative, online buyers are now able to receive their products from e-commerce sites, delivered to their doorsteps in Dhaka.

Microsoft Bangladesh, Shakti Foundation and the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has been signed a partnership to train and support female entrepreneurs to run their own IT repair centres across Bangladesh. Microsoft Philanthropies yesterday announced a financial award from the Microsoft YouthSpark grant to Shakti Foundation for Disadvantaged Women, according to a press release floated to media yesterday.

Grameenphone Returns Unused Balance Of Connections That Were Blocked In Between 2008 And 2014

Grameenphone yesterday deposited Tk 7.33 crore with the telecom regulator against the unused balance of connections that were blocked in between 2008 and 2014. Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission had blocked 2,540,666 SIMs of the market leader in the six years to December 31, 2014. The operator will now be eligible to resell these blocked numbers.

BTRC To Take Stern Actions Against Operators For False SIM Info

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) is going to take stern actions, including financial penalty if any mobile phone operator’s retailers are found involved with selling SIM cards using false information. The regulator is insisting that actions be taken, as the operators are pressurizing retailers to increase SIM cards selling to grab more customers, said officials.
