Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) yesterday reported that in the first weeks of the launch of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service, Robi has gained 16,916 to its network from three rival networks.
On the other hand, 11,676 Grameenphone customers left the market leader retaining their existing 11-digit number. On the other hand, it drew 4,041 new customers from its competitors. To summarise, Robi’s net gain in users was 10,943 while Grameenphone’s net loss of users was 7,635.
26,817 users have successfully made the switch to another network out of 47,090.
