After a month of searching for the most promising startups through online pitches, e27 has finally announced the Judges’ Choice winners for this year’s Echelon ASIA Summit 2016. It is Rafi Mustafa’s travel startup TRIPOOLY that has taken the winning crown from Bangladesh.
“This is a fantastic news for TRIPOOLY and Bangladeshi ecosystem in general. We’d like to thank e27 and SDAsia for arranging such a brilliant platform, which allows local startups to pitch and showcase their businesses to a global audience. We are excited and look forward to presenting TRIPOOLY & Bangladesh at Echelon Asia Summit in Singapore,” – Rafi Mustafa, founder, and CEO of TRIPOOLY.
TRIPOOLY is an online marketplace for travel agencies and tour operators. The startup specializes in providing the best airfare, tour deals & packages, visa assistance, cruise deals and other tourism related products. TRIPOOLY’s aim is to capitalize on the emerging markets in the region and deliver a power-packed holiday experience.
TRIPOOLY was founded by Rafi Mustafa, who is also the co-founder of Bangladesh’s premium fashion e-commerce site ZuumZuum.com. In 2015, ZuumZuum was identified as one of the top 10 startups in Bangladesh by Tech In Asia.
Rafi’s family has been involved in the travel industry for the past 28 years. During his time as a Director at his family business, Rafi has learned the ins-and-outs of this business. TRIPOOLY is the brain-child of Rafi’s passion for traveling and his experience as a world traveler.
This year, over 25 startups have pitched online for the local qualifier event. The startups were given 3 minutes to pitch to the judges and 2 minutes for Q&A session. SD ASIA, one of the leading content and event making platforms for Bangladesh tech startups, was the local e27 partner for this year’s echelon summit.
