NewsCred: Changing The Future Of Content Marketing

NewsCred is a leading platform, which helps businesses determine the best ways to reach their customers through content marketing. Conventionally, businesses have always tried to sell their content through ads. But, now, ads often underperform, due to the competitive nature of social media marketing. Thus, since its inception in 2008, NewsCred has been trying to build new ways to share and create content for businesses’ brands.

NewsCred’s main product is its software, which provides a platform for businesses to manage their content creation, distribution, and share content across channels, teams, and global markets.

Michael Brenner, who is listed in Forbes’s ‘Top 40 Social Media Marketer’ page, leads NewsCred’s strategic services, which help businesses to build their content strategy. NewsCred provides strategic consulting services on content curation, such as: editing articles/images, assisting with story development, and selecting writers for businesses.

Currently, NewsCred has the largest content marketplace in the world, enabling businesses to scale up their marketing with original, licensed, and user-generated content. NewsCred uses operational tools for managing its content-related workflows (including social media contents), task management, and collaboration. NewsCred team has built a fully formed syndication platform for licensing content from over 1,500 sources. A network of 500 journalists, photographers, videographers, and designers around the world help NewsCred to create original content.

Recently, the company has secured $42 million in funding led by FTV Capital, along with previous backers FirstMark Capital, InterWest Partners and Mayfield Fund. The newly raised fund will be used to double the company’s sales team and support software development. In 2014, NewsCred raised $25 million in Series C round.

NewsCred was founded by three Bangladeshi pioneers: Shafqat Islam, Iraj Islam, and Asif Rahman, who wanted to make marketing better for everyone. Currently, the company has 200 employees and serves customers from 70 countries. NewsCred has worked with Fortune 2000 (40% of NewsCred’s current customers), Barclays, Cap Gemini, Cisco, Fidelity, Dell, Pepsi, USAA, Visa, and NASDAQ.
